There are a variety of ways to get from Croatia to Italy, and a ferry is a popular choice for many reasons. There are six ferry companies to choose from with 23 routes connecting the two countries. The one you choose depends on where you’re departing from and where you want to end up. Here are some of your choices.

 

Jadrolinija Routes

These ferries range in time from 7 ½ hours and nearly 10 hours. The Split to Ancona route sails 4 times weekly, Zadar to Ancona offers 5 weekly sail times and Stari Grad to Ancona sails 2 times weekly. You can also sail from Dubrovnik to Bari with 4 weekly sail times.

 

Liberty Lines Fast Ferries

They operate from the mainland and also offer services to several of the archipelagos. The Mali Losinj to Trieste route sails twice per week and takes 4 hours, 10 minutes. Leave from Rovinj and land in Trieste with 6 weekly sail times to choose from and a sailing duration of about 1 hour, 40 minutes. Sail from Porec to Trieste with 4 weekly sail times and a duration of 1 hour, 10 minutes.

 

Gomo Viaggi

There are several options with this ferry company, each with outstanding service and comfort. Sail from Rovinj to Cesenatico twice per week at about 3 hours sailing time. You can sail from Zadar to either Cesenatico or Pesar with two weekly sail times. The former route is 5 hours, 15 minutes and the latter is 4 hours. Sail from Split to Civitanova Marche with one weekly sail time and an average duration of 4 hours. You can also sail from Mali Losinj to either Cesenatario or Pesaro with three weekly sail times and a duration of 4 hours, 45 minutes to Cesenatario and 3 hours 30 minutes to Pesaro.

 

Atlas Kompas

This ferry company offers routes from Umag, Porec, Rovinj and Pula directly to Venice. Umag offers one sail time each week, Rovinj offers three sail times weekly, and Pula and Porec offer 6 weekly sail times. Duration of these routes is very similar, ranging between 2 hours, 30 minutes and 3 hours.
