Where is the Amsterdam cruise terminal?

The cruise terminal (or Passenger Terminal Amsterdam – PTA) is located in the city center east of Central Station. The terminal is owned by the Port of Amsterdam Authority. The port has made Amsterdam the most popular destination for cruises in North West Europe. A team of highly qualified personnel handles the reception of passengers and vessels at the terminal. When people talk of Amsterdam, voyages come to the minds of many. The city is renowned for its beautiful sceneries and luxurious ships. The city receives roughly 300,000 guests annually. This has greatly contributed to the city’s wealth.

The terminal is strategically placed near public transport making maneuverability from the port into the city easy. The taxi and luxurious escort services are among the largest beneficiaries of the terminal. Hotels in the city are also part of the beneficiaries of the terminal. The building is predominantly made of glass and shaped like a huge wave. This unique architecture makes it attractive and appealing to the eye.

The quay length of the terminal is about 600 meters making it possible to moor any kind of vessel. The Amsterdam Port Authority is looking into making the port more efficient. There are plans include new LNG bunkering facility to ease operations. The facility will help ease congestion at the port as ships won’t have to come to shore to refuel. The only ships that will be allowed through will be passenger ships and cargo ships. The facility is expected to be operational in the first half of 2019.
