Where is Amsterdam Chinatown?

Amsterdam Chinatown is located right across the market square of Nieuwmarkt and the red-light district. The name Chinatown is greatly attributed to a large number of people from the Asian community that reside there. The area comprises several city blocks that divide the area. There are several Asian restaurants and markets within Chinatown.

The Zeedijk Buddhist temple is a significant tourist sight. Also known as Fo Guang Shan Hua, it is located on the Zeedijk Street. The temple was built in 2000 and has stood out as the largest temple in the whole of Europe. The build’s catchy design and bright colours make it really stand out amid adjacent structures around. You can visit and enjoy the tranquil environment around the temple. It is open every day apart from Mondays up to 5 pm when it closes.

Montelbaanstoren is found at Oudeschans 2. This prehistoric site was once a military-naval base. Built in the year 1516, it has stood the test of time. The place is on among the historic pieces of Amsterdam.

De Waag was used as a gatehouse of the Royal College of Surgeons. It has been turned into a nice restaurant that you can visit and have a meal at.
