Amsterdam is the capital of which country?

Amsterdam is the most populated city in the Netherlands, and it is also the capital. Many people return to Amsterdam time and time again because there is so much to do and see. The canals are one of the main things you see in tourist pictures of Amsterdam, and probably one of the most recognisable tourist activities.

But as well as this iconic point of interest, Amsterdam also has great bars and restaurants, fantastic nightlife and a lot of interesting museums, including museums dedicated to Anne Frank and famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. Amsterdam is also very flat so a favourite way to see the city by tourists is usually cycling if the weather is ok.

A canal cruise is the perfect way to see as much of Amsterdam as possible in a short time. Canal cruises usually make a few different stops through the day so you can see more of Amsterdam than you would on foot.

Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam

The Van Gogh Museum is an art museum dedicated to the works of the famous artist. Enthusiasts can also visit The Van Gogh House in Zundert, which also has a museum attached to it. one of his most famous works, “Sunflowers” is kept in the Van Gogh museum.

Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam

Another important historical story that has roots in Amsterdam. Visitors can see the real-life house that Anne Frank hid in during WW2 when she wrote her famous diary. There were many people hiding in the house and her diary was found and made into a book which is still read today. This is one of Amsterdam’s most famous attractions.
