Where is Amsterdam Bitterzoet?

Part of the Paradiso Foundation, the Amsterdam Bitterzoet (or ‘Bittersweet’ in English) is a venue for a variety of different happenings including performances by underground or sub-culture bands, DJs, VJs, theatre collectives and other creative projects. The venue offers a wide variety of musical genres from hip hop to reggae so it is a good idea to check the evening’s programme before going.

The Amsterdam Bitterzoet is located in the heart of the city at Spuistraat 2. It is close to the quaint shopping district of Haalremmerdijk and the pedestrianised areas of Kalverstraat and Dam Square. If you are staying in Amsterdam city centre, Bitterzoet is within easy walking distance of the city’s Central railway station. It is also accessible by public transport and the nearest stops are at Centraal Station or Nieuwezijids. It is not advisable to go to the venue by car because of the difficulty in finding parking.
