Does Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) Have Sleeping Pods / Cabins?

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is a transport hub, with numerous flights from and to major local and international destinations every day. If you happen to be on one of these flights and you are looking for a place to rest or take a nap between flights, keep on reading.

Sleeping Pods At Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport

Since around 2020, SAW Airport also proudly offers travelers the benefit of personal sleeping pods. This service is provided by Kepler Sleep Cabins and Rooms (average review 9/10) and can be booked via Booking.com.

Inside the sleeping pods, there are toilets, showers, luggage storage space, comfortable beds, and even a small terrace area. Pods also have smart TVs, work desks, and international charging units.

Please note that these units are only for one person and that female and male units are separate. In total, there are 14 female units and 28 male units. There are, however, also 5 family units for families who wish to remain together.

Hotels At Or Near Istanbul SAW Airport

The most obvious choice here is ISG Airport Hotel (average review 8.7/10), which is only a 3-minute walk from the airport terminal. There is also a no-cost airport shuttle that leaves from outside the Arrivals floor at column 17 every 30 minutes.

Sleep Pod and Cabin Alternative 1: Seats & Couches At Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport

This airport’s gates and departure areas are often described by travelers as among the best places to find a (relatively) quiet place to rest. The majority of seats are unfortunately fitted with armrests. There are, however, a couple of benches with moveable armrests in the airport’s departure lounge.

Technically, sleeping on the floor in a carpeted area is against the rules. Many travelers have, however, reported that the authorities turn a blind eye to this practice. Of course, even if that is the case you will most likely still have to deal with bright lighting and noise.

Sleep Cabin & Pod Alternative 2: Airport Lounges at Istanbul Airport

Irrespective of which class you are flying, this airport has lounges that can be entered by simply buying a lounge pass, paying at the door, or joining their membership program.

Kepler Club. This club is situated at Airside, on the Mezzanine Floor of the international terminal. It is open 24/7 and you can buy a prepaid lounge pass for 3 hours or more.

Plaza Premium Lounge. This is located close to gate 203 on the international departure level (Airside). It is open around the clock and you can pay at the door.

ISG lounge. This lounge is situated on the upper Airside level in the international terminal. It is also open 24/7 and you can pay at the door.
