The Amsterdam Public Transport Day Pass

When visiting Amsterdam, you can explore the city with day passes. These offers allow you to use public transport throughout your day. Whether you are visiting world class museums or catching up with friends, a day pass lets you save while you experience Amsterdam.

 

 

I amsterdam City Card

 

The I amsterdam City Card gives you access to public transport across the city. That includes metro, bus, tram and ferry services. You can buy a card that is valid for 24 hours. There are also longer options, from 48 hours to 120 hours.

 

The card is much more than a public transport day pass. It gives you access to the city’s must-see sights, including more than 70 museums and attractions. Admission is included for the Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt House, Muiderslot Castle, Zaanse Schans Windmills, Van Gogh Museum, ARTIS Royal Zoo, NEMO Science Museum and more.

 

You can also enjoy a canal cruise on Amsterdam’s picturesque and historic waterways with the I amsterdam City Card. Plus, the card – which can be purchased online – also gives you discounts on concerts, restaurants, bike rentals and much more.

 

 

GVB (day) passes

 

GVB is Amsterdam’s public transport operator. Its network includes metro, tram, bus and ferry services across the metropolitan area. The GVB day ticket gives you unlimited travel throughout the city on these services. There are also multi-day tickets if you plan to stay longer in Amsterdam.

 

The GBV day and multi-day tickets can be purchased online. It is also available in hotels, AKO bookstores and other sales points in the city. The card gives you access to public transport services in Diemen, Duivendrecht, Amstelveen, Schiphol and Weesp along with Amsterdam.

 

The one-day Amsterdam Travel Ticket is another option. This ticket is ideal if you are arriving at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and staying in the city for a day. It gives you unlimited travel on the trains operated by NS railway between the airport and Amsterdam as well as the Amsterdam Airport Express (Bus 397) and Niteliner (Bus N97). You also get unlimited travel on GVB’s metro, tram and bus services.

 

Another option is the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket. This one-day pass from GVB is ideal for visitors travelling in Amsterdam and nearby highlights like Zaanse Schans, Haarlem or Volendam. You can use the pass to travel on metro, tram and bus services in Amsterdam and the surrounding region for a period of 24 hours. It can be used on GVB, Connexxion, EBS and NS services.

 

 

Holland Travel Public Transport Ticket

 

If you are travelling from other areas of the Netherlands to Amsterdam for a day trip, the Holland Travel Ticket might be for you. The ticket gives you unlimited travel for one day on public transport across the Netherlands. Along with exploring Amsterdam, you can visit Maastricht or Giethoorn for example. It is valid on all public transport companies and can be purchased at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam Central Station, and NS ticket machines and counters. The ticket can also be purchased online.
