What is the legroom on Cathay Pacific Economy?

Founded in 1946, Cathay Pacific has a rich history that sees it serve more than ninety destinations spread across thirty-five countries. The countries it covers include those in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Pacific, North America, and Europe.

As is the case with many other airlines, Cathay Pacific offers several travel options. Our focus today is on the legroom of the Economy Class.

How much legroom should you expect on Cathay Pacific Economy?

Travellers are advised to make advance reservations as this can make all the difference once in the air. It guarantees you get to sit with your friends and family, and in some cases, secure the seats you prefer.

The advantage here is that you will not have to wait until the check-in session to do the same. Those travelling on higher fare Economy bookings can do so at no extra charge.

What can you expect when it comes to the legroom?

Cathay Pacific operates several plane models; whose seating configurations vary greatly. Let’s take a look at each:

  1. CX A350-900 Premium Economy

It uses the 2-4-2 seating configuration, which means it can get a bit tight in the middle. If you can, avoid the middle seats at all costs. Here, you’ll find a decently roomy seat having a width of 18.5 inches and a seat pitch of forty inches.

In terms of reclining, it can recline up to nine inches.

  1. Economy Class on the New A350-900

In this particular class, you get a thirty inches’ seat pitch and a seat having a width of 18 inches. The knee room here is okay, and it doesn’t feel too tight. Your seat here can recline for up to six inches, which feels relatively less regardless of how you look at it.

It operates using the 3-3-3 configuration, making the seats quite comfortable, particularly if you settle for an aisle seat located in the middle row. A better alternative is the bulkhead row, where 40C is the highest pick.

  1. Cathay Pacific B777-300ER

Last but not least is the Cathay Pacific B777-300ER, whose best seats can be said to be in Row 39, located at the bulkhead. Consider choosing AC or KH, where seats A and H are the best and offer the best legroom.

It operates using the 2-4-2 configuration, where passengers seating in the aisle seats are guaranteed better elbow room.
